Moraine Lake, Banff National Park

Previous Photo : Photo Index : Next Photo

Last in the selection of sights in Banff National Park is Moraine Lake. This is the less visited sister to Lake Louise. Both lakes are set in glacial valleys with rugged peaks on each side. The difference between the two is in their level of development. At Lake Louise you can stroll along a paved promenade with hundreds of other tourists, whereas at Moraine Lake, you clamber up 'the rockpile' to find your own personal viewpoint over the turquoise waters.
