Whilst everyone else was photographing the Sinagua Indian Ruins at Wupatki, I was snapping in the opposite direction. The fertile farmlands of the Sinagua were swiftly and irreversibly submerged by the eruptions of Sunset Crater Volcano. This has left behind a rugged and barren landscape of lava, hardy grasses and wide expanses of empty space.
