This rustic building is an abandoned compressor house that was among the first of its
kind. A waterwheel was used to pump air into nearby mines along a pnuematic tube - a
new invention at the time. The idyllic setting above a gushing waterfall and emerald
plunge pool make this one of the most cherished historic buildings in Colorado.
Getting to this spot requires some determination and confidence in your 4x4.
It is located in the clear creek valley, along a rocky and narrow track from the
village of Marble.
