Colorado Photos
Maroon Bells, White River National Forest

Previous Photo : Photo Index : Next Photo

Set in a picture postcard valley of pines, aspen trees and shallow lakes, the Maroon Bells mountains are one of Colorado's most photographed. The Maroon Lake shoreline is busy with snap happy tourists on almost every day of the year. A hike up the valley leads to greater tranquility. This view is about a half mile up from the waterside viewpoints and was taken from a silly position lying on the ground :)
